WHO WE ARE

A Global Chaplaincy Body Built on Professional Excellence

The U.S. Chaplain International Association (U.S.C.I.A.) is a global chaplaincy body committed to preparing, equipping, certifying, and mobilizing trained professionals for meaningful service to people, institutions, communities, and nations.

In a world marked by uncertainty, trauma, disaster, conflict, and grief, chaplaincy is no longer only a ceremonial function. It is a necessary discipline of care, readiness, and response. The chaplain stands where people are hurting, bringing presence where there is pain, calm where there is crisis, counsel where there is confusion, and hope where there is despair.

“Wherever there is crisis, uncertainty, trauma, stress, conflict, or human need, there is a place for a trained chaplain.”

OUR STORY

Founded in 2012. Growing Worldwide.

Founded in the United States in 2012, U.S.C.I.A. has grown into a global chaplaincy body, equipping and certifying chaplains for professional service across multiple continents.

Anchored to Houston, Texas, our governance structure strengthens training delivery, quality assurance, and certification oversight across every region we serve.

Our Standard

“We are not merely building an organization. We are building a standard.”

A chaplain’s badge, certificate, or title must represent more than attendance. It must represent competence, credibility, accountability, formation, ethical maturity, and readiness for service.

PURPOSE | MISSION | VISION

What Drives Us

Our Purpose

To prepare chaplains for service in the real world, ensuring those who step forward are not only willing, but ready; not only compassionate, but competent; not only motivated, but properly trained.

Our Mission

To educate, equip, certify, and mobilize chaplains for service across communities, institutions, and nations, grounded in competency-based standards and professional discipline.

Our Vision

To become a globally respected chaplaincy body that develops trained, qualified, competent, and accountable chaplains for every major area of human need.

WHY IT MATTERS NOW

Calling Alone Is No Longer Enough

Modern society faces complex, layered challenges. These realities require chaplains who can listen, support, guide, de-escalate, refer appropriately, work within systems, and serve with both compassion and professionalism.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

Our Convictions

We believe compassion must be trained.

We believe calling must be formed.

We believe service must be accountable.

We believe institutions deserve chaplains who understand order, ethics, and protocol.

We believe communities deserve chaplains who are present, prepared, and trustworthy.

We believe trained chaplains are bridges between compassion and public service.

OUR INVITATION

From Willingness to Readiness

U.S.C.I.A. invites leaders, professionals, first responders, and care-minded individuals to consider a career in chaplaincy: to move beyond compassion into capacity, beyond title into responsibility, and beyond willingness into readiness.
